Kansas City, Missouri — The new year is often a time of reflection and change. It’s time for people to reassess what happened in the last 12 months and what the future holds.
January 2023 will also bring many changes for Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt after more than two decades in public office.
In this episode of 4Star Politics, Schmidt joins FOX4’s John Holt to wrap up his last week in office and reflect on his career.
“I hope people remember that we typically stood up and fought when we spotted substance abuse. It’s about drug abuse leaving Kansas with more resources than it ever had.” 15 years because of the lawsuits we filed against some drug companies over the marketing of opioids. We stood up and fought child abuse and elder abuse. We are like any other Attorney General. We sent more people to prison than we did,” Schmidt said.
