Elkhart — Elkhart General Hospital welcomed the world’s first baby of 2023 in Elkhart County.
Heidi Prescott of Beacon Health System said in a news release:
Sean is the son of Kayleigh Coombs and her fiancé Andrew Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Elkhart decide to honor Andrew’s father, Daniel, who died several years ago.
The first baby of the year will always be memorable for the team, said Elkhart General Labor and Delivery Nurse Amber O’Brien.
“New Year’s Day is a symbol of fresh new beginnings,” O’Brien said in the release.
Coombs and Miller, first-time parents, are excited to start the new year with an 8 lb 2 oz, 19 ½ inch Bundle of Joy.
“Becoming a parent is certainly going to be a very big change,” Coombs said. “But you are most welcome.”
Just eight hours later, at 8:26 pm, Loki Eros Hamilton was born weighing 7 pounds, 6.5 ounces. This will be her first baby born at Goshen Health in 2023.
Loki is the son of Destiny Gauthier and Isaiah Hamilton.
