The former boyfriend of New York State Rep. George Santos is facing calls for his resignation after he lied extensively about his past.The Long Island Republican faces multiple investigations involving his finances. Despite this, I will never resign.
“His ego is too big. I know there is,” Pedro Villalba told CNN’s Erin Barnett on “Outfront” on Thursday.
Vilarva said she met Santos in 2014 when she was 18. Santos was 26 at the time and married to a woman. They moved in together shortly after Vilarva graduated from high school. Santos repeatedly said he was going to take Vilarva to Hawaii and propose, but never did. increase.

When asked if he was surprised that Santos was now a member of Congress, Vilalba replied that he was not.
“What he always wanted was fame and power,” Vilalba said. “That was all he cared about and he got it.”
Santos said he was married to a woman during his relationship with Villalba, but found out after he left Santos’ home.
“It was a bit of a shock for me,” said Vilarva. “But then he said he was going to get a divorce, he was going to get a divorce, but he never got a divorce.
CNN has confirmed official records confirming that Santos was married to a woman from 2012 until they divorced in 2019.
Villalba also said he was aware of several lies Santos told over the years, including lawmakers’ claims that he was employed by financial firm Citigroup.
“I already knew because I never saw him work,” he said.
But Vilalba said the situation weighed more heavily on him as new reports revealed the extent of Santos’ fabrication.
“It’s very shocking. It’s also a little disturbing. That happened nine years ago,” he told CNN.
