Atlanta, Georgia — Attorney General Chris Carr joins 21 other attorneys general in calling on congressional leaders to pass a bill that would allow states to use cell phone jamming systems in prisons.
Federal law currently prohibits the use of jamming technology.
As of January 1, 2023, the Georgia Department of Corrections has conducted 126 facility-wide adjustments and removed more than 23,000 contraband. This includes his 8,074 smuggled cell phones that were confiscated last year alone.
