The platypus is such a strange-looking creature that the first specimen was sent to the British Museum in 1799. was thought to be a hoax A confusing combination of fur, duck-like beak, beaver-like tail, and webbed feet.
However, misconceptions about monotremes were not encouraged by attempts at taxidermy, resulting in specimens that Dr. Jack Ashby, deputy director of the Cambridge University Museum of Zoology, calls “fatipus” and “platysausage.”

“We often see flat plaice in pancakes. Sometimes we find overstuffed fatips and platy sausages in the shape of long, thin sausages.” He said.
“Many mistakes were made because the taxidermist had to imagine what the animal would look like when reconstructing it.
“Australian mammals are less accurately portrayed in museums than any other animal group I have come across.”
According to Dr. Ashby, the echidna, also a monotreme, is a close second among the “mostly incorrect” taxidermy species in museums.
However, in all fairness to museum taxidermists, junk taxidermy is actually quite common.

And if you don’t realize it, there’s a bit of a ruckus going on in the United States today where they’re in the House of Representatives. constitutionally required to elect a chairman We can’t move on to legislation until someone hands us the gavel.
But Republicans are preventing their leader, Kevin McCarthy, from taking on that role. A historic 10th poll.
McCarthy is not on the sidelines, and Democrats are sitting with beer in hand and watching the show.
For context, 1833 was the last time a very large number of votes were required to nominate a candidate.

Winsome Resources (ASX:WR1) has flagged strong lithium mineralization with 1.34% Li20 over 107.6m from assays at its Adina project in Quebec, Canada.
In addition, drilling returned very high intersections with up to 2.21% Li20 over 30m from 41m to 71m.
This is the result of recent drilling that confirmed that the strike length of the main pegmatite body has been extended to 620m, with further extension expected.
“Average 1.34% Li2O in pegmatites more than 100m from the surface speaks for a world-class lithium project and paves the way for a significantly expanded drilling program currently planned at Adina. ,” said MD Chris Evans.
“We are also very encouraged by other impressive pegmatite crossings and visual extrapolations from the subsequent drilling of holes until the Christmas holidays.”
The helicopter-assisted drilling program at Adina has been significantly extended from the originally planned 5,000m to over 20,000m. A second drilling rig is currently being mobilized on site to support the expanded drilling and resource definition program.
