Without them, it might just be another store trying to find the location.
Whenever you walk into the store, you’ll find owner Jackie Francis and her staff greeting customers by name. That’s customer service.
Sometimes they come in for one item and leave with more.
“[The store’s]uniqueness is in the staff and the customers. We are a mountain of great characters that come together to create this welcoming atmosphere.” Francis said.
Just look at the menu, it’s blue for breakfast and pink for lunch and dinner. “Aietarian (Italian) Super Sub” “Sling (sling) shot” Also “Hippie (hippie) chic”. The store won the Best Convenience Store/Gas Station category and was shortlisted for Best Sub Place in the 2022 Chautauqua County Best of the Best Contest sponsored by The Post-Journal and the Dunkirk Observer.
Francis says his repeat customers have grown because the store is part of their lives.
“When it comes to shops, a lot of the customers are like their grandchildren. So they’ve been here all their lives. And this is where they get their favorite things.” Francis added.
There is no typical day for the store. Everything is different, Francis said.
The day begins with food preparation before the store opens, and when the store opens at 7:00 a.m., the meeting with customers begins. Francis said it will also save time on: “coffee” Or have coffee with a customer.
Francis would be the first to say that this store is not following trends.
“We are trendsetters, so we don’t follow trends. We create trends.” Francis pointed out.
