Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who was ousted as a member of the Republican 6th January Committee, will join CNN as a senior political commentator.
Kinzinger served six terms in the House of Representatives, representing Illinois’ congressional district. In addition to the January 6 Committee, he has served on the House Energy, Commerce, and Foreign Relations Committees.

Kinzinger served in the Air Force in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in November 2003 and later awarded a pilot’s wing and has served in Air Force Special Operations, Air Combat Command, Air Mobile Command, and the Air National Guard. Kinzinger is still an Air National Guard pilot and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Kinzinger and Liz Cheney, another Republican on the January 6th Committee, were criticized after the Republican National Committee pressed for answers about Donald Trump’s responsibility for the attack on the Capitol.
